A couple of the Mets top prospects are in action tonight in the Arizona Fall League. Catcher Tomas Nido and shortstop Luis Guillorme get the starting nods in tonight’s Fall Stars Game, which features the top players in this year’s Fall League. They will each bat 6th and 9th, respectively.
Guillorme has had a solid 2017 season in Double-A Binghampton. He sported a line of .283/.376/.331 in 128 games and you may recognize him from his one-handed bat grab in Spring Training earlier this year. So far in 8 games in the Arizona Fall League, his average is at a strong .328 and has 11 hits and 2 RBIs. He is the 11th ranked player in the Mets farm system according to MLB.com.
Nido had a satisfactory year in Double-A Binghampton. He had a line of .232/.287/.354 in 102 games before getting called up to New York in September. In his short stint with the Amazins, he had 3 hits in 10 at-bats, along with 10 RBIs in 5 games played. In 11 games in the Arizona Fall League, he has 7 hits in 42 at-bats, along with 1 home run and 11 strikeouts. He is the 9th ranked player in the Mets farm system according to MLB.com.
