Rangers hire former Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen

The Texas Rangers have hired former Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen as the new assistant pitching coach to Rangers pitching coach Doug Brocail, first reported by John Blake.

Warthen has been the Mets pitching coach since 2008 before getting fired at the end of the 2017 season. He has helped build one of the most formidable rotations in recent years and helped the Mets earn two postseason appearances and the National League pennant in 2015 during his nine-year tenure.
