Japanese two-way star Shohei Ohtani sent out a questionnaire to all major league teams asking questions about several subjects, according to the Associated Press. His inquiries included what the teams thought his strengths and weaknesses were, how the player development system works in the major leagues, and why their organization will work well for him.
In news across the majors, Doug Fister has signed with the Texas Rangers, according to Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston. The deal is reportedly a 1-year/$4 million deal that will include a team option in 2019. The 33-year old right-hander pitched with a record of 5-9 with an ERA of 4.88 and an FIP of 3.98 in 90.1 innings pitched with the Red Sox in 2017.
