Mets Spring Training Pre-Game Report – 2/23/18

The Mets will kick off their first Spring Training game today as they will take on the Atlanta Braves at 1:10pm at First Data Field in Port. St Lucie.

Manager Mickey Callaway will give Zack Wheeler the starting nod, giving us the chance to see how Zack Wheeler has bounced back from his injury woes. Wheeler will start against Braves RHP Matt Wisler in today’s contest.

Today’s starting lineup will go as follows:

  1. Brandon Nimmo – CF
  2. Adrian Gonzalez – DH
  3. Todd Frazier – 3B
  4. Peter Alonso – 1B
  5. Travis d’Arnaud – C
  6. Jose Reyes – 2B
  7. Amed Rosario – SS
  8. Kevin Kaczmarski – RF
  9. Matt den Dekker – LF

Dominic Smith was originally slated to start at first base, however manager Mickey Callaway has given the start to prospect Peter Alonso.

Although the Braves’ lineup has not been formally announced yet, we will potentially see top prospects Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna get some action in today’s game.
