Mets Spring Training Pre-Game Report – 2/24/18

The Mets take on the St. Louis Cardinals in Grapefruit League action today at 1:10pm. Yesterday, the Mets came back late and beat the Braves in their first spring training game of the year by a score of 6-2.

Zack Wheeler impressed in his lone inning of work yesterday, striking out two batters while flashing some great velocity on his pitches, with his fastball clocking in at a top speed of 97 mph.

Seth Lugo will get the start against Carlos Martinez today. The Mets starting lineup is shown below:

  1. Brandon Nimmo – CF
  2. Wilmer Flores – 2B
  3. Dominic Smith – 1B
  4. Travis d’Arnaud – DH
  5. Jose Reyes – SS
  6. Kevin Plawecki – C
  7. Zach Borenstein – RF
  8. Philip Evans – 3B
  9. Ty Kelly – LF

Dominic Smith will enter the starting lineup today after getting benched yesterday for showing up to the game late.
