2018 spring training

Mets Spring Training Pre-Game Report – 2/28/18

The Mets take on the Atlanta Braves today at 1:05pm, a day removed from a poor performance by Steven Matz, where he gave up 5 earned runs in the second inning and was taken out of the game before recording an out in the second. To add insult to injury (or rather, injury to insult), Anthony Swarzak had to leave the game with a strained calf after attempting to cover first base in the third inning.

Matt Harvey will get his first start of spring training today, as he hopes to start a comeback season reminiscent of his “Dark Knight” days. He will start against RHP Brandon McCarthy. The Mets’ starting lineup is shown below:

1. Amed Rosario – SS

2. Brandon Nimmo – CF

3. Jose Lobaton – C

4. Patrick Mazeika – DH

5. Peter Alonso – 1B

6. Zach Borenstein – RF

7. Gavin Cecchini – 2B

8. David Thompson – 3B

9. Matthew den Dekker – LF
