Mets Spring Training Pre-Game Report – 3/6/18

The Mets take on the Houston Astros at 1:10pm in Port St. Lucie. The Mets come off of a 4-2 victory against the Tigers, snapping a 5-game winless streak. Brandon Nimmo hit a leadoff home run to dead center field in the first inning, improving the already strong case he has in becoming the Opening Day center field starter. Matt Harvey had another solid outing, only allowing two hits and a walk in just three innings of work.

Jason Vargas will get the starting nod today against former Met Colin McHugh. Vargas allowed one run in two innings of work in his last outing. The Mets’ starting lineup is shown below:

4. Jay Bruce – RF

5. Todd Frazier – 3B

6. Asdrubal Cabrera – 2B
