2018 spring training

Mets Spring Training Pre-Game Report – 3/10/18

The Mets take on the Yankees in a spring training installment of the Subway Series. The Mets come off of a 4-4 tie against the Tigers where Steven Matz pitched four shutout innings after allowing five runs in each of his past two spring training outings. Hansel Robles once again struggled on the mound, allowing four runs and five hits in just a single inning pitched. Wilmer Flores went 2-4 and hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning off Alex Wilson.

Matt Harvey will get the start against RHP Luis Cessa. Cessa originally began his career in the Mets organization before getting traded to the Tigers with Michael Fulmer in the blockbuster trade deadline deal in 2015 which sent Yoenis Cespedes to the Mets. Cessa has bounced in between the minor leagues and the major leagues since making his professional debut in 2016. Cessa pitched for an ERA of 4.75 along with an FIP of 5.69 in the 2017 season.
