Mets Spring Training Pre-Game Report – 3/13/18

After an off day on Monday, the Mets are back in action to play two split squad games today, facing the Houston Astros at 1:10pm and playing the Washington Nationals at 7:05pm. The Mets lost in their previous game to the Astros, 5-2. Jacob deGrom allowed two hits and two runs while striking out four hitters in 2.2 innings. Yoenis Cespedes also hit a solo home run against Lance McCullers in the bottom of the first inning.

Noah Syndergaard will start against RHP Gerrit Cole in the 1:10pm game while Zack Wheeler will start against Max Scherzer in the 7:05pm game. The Mets’ starting lineup against the Astros is shown below while the lineups for the Mets-Nationals game are still to be announced. Yoenis Cespedes was scratched from today’s starting lineup after suffering a sore wrist, his recovery time is slated as day-to-day.
