Mets Spring Training Pre-Game Report – 3/17/18

The Mets take on the Nationals at 1:05pm in a special St. Patrick’s Day edition of spring training baseball. The Mets played to a tie with the Orioles yesterday, 4-4. Jacob deGrom was unstoppable on the mound, striking out eight while only allowing one hit in five scoreless innings pitched. Keep in mind that deGrom pitched against some of the Orioles everyday starters, including star 3B Manny Machado, Jonathan Schoop, and Trey Mancini.

A.J. Griffin will start against RHP Tanner Roark today. Griffin signed a minor league contract with the Mets on February 26th. Griffin pitched for an ERA of 5.94 and an FIP of 6.26 in 15 starts with the Rangers in 2017.
