Mets Pre-Game Report – 4/5/18

The Mets begin their first series against the Washington Nationals today at 1:05pm. The Mets come off a two-game sweep of the Phillies and hope to spoil the Nationals home opener today.

After a long recovery from a dislocated shoulder he suffered in August of last year, Michael Conforto is back and is ready to make his season debut today. Conforto will bat leadoff today and will start in center field.

Jacob deGrom will start against Steven Strasburg in today’s game. deGrom pitched well in his first outing of the season on Saturday, allowing one run and striking out seven in 5.2 innings pitched in a 6-2 Mets victory.
